Meet your representatives
I am a Father of three young children with one at Waioneke and another just about to start. I am a medical professional co-owning and running (with my wife) two local Osteopathic practices. My relevant experience is broad and covers management and practical skills gained from the UK Infantry, acting as Chairman for an Auckland community sports club for many years and spending a considerable number of years coordinating and delivering courses into the New Zealand Osteopathic Programme at Unitec. I remain a Professional Preceptor for the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand guiding overseas qualified Osteopaths who wish to practice in NZ. I have recently become a Warranted Kea Leader for the NZ Scouts.
Hi, my name is Jason Bell and I am currently a member of the Waioneke School Board of Trustees. Melissa and I have lived in South Head for about 15 years. Our children love it here at Waioneke and Melissa and I believe the school has so much to offer all the children and families of South Head.
Serving the children, families and school on the Board of Trustees is one way that I feel I have been able to give back to the school and community for what they offer to us as a family. I believe that I have taken the time to learn how the Board of Trustees works and I fulfil an important role through my work in the property portfolio. During my time on the Board of Trustees, I have found that that being self-employed gives me the flexibility needed to help-out in many ways and have the time to do that. My practical skills in mechanical things and other practical areas have been well appreciated around the school during this time and I believe I offer valuable strengths as a member of the board.
I believe I am in a great place to continue to offer my skills and knowledge to the Waioneke community and feel that it is important for there to be continuity in the governance of our school and I offer that.
Thank you for your support and I look forward to serving the school community further.
My name is Emma Bendall and I am standing for the Board of Trustees for Waioneke School. Hamish and I have Olive in Year 7 and Felix in Year 4 and we feel unbelievably lucky that we can bring our children up in South Head.
I have been on the Waioneke BOT for the last four years. I bring to the board, a pragmatic and calm approach, and experience in dealing with complex situations. And I ask a lot of questions - a key role of a board member!
Waioneke School has so much to give to our children and I am passionate about making sure it is a place where every child can thrive. I believe in developing resilient and curious learners who are confident in who they are and can recognise what they can contribute both now and in the future.
As a board member, I would like to see Waioneke continue to make the most of being a small, rural school and a great foundation for learning. A place where the big kids dance with the little kids at the school disco, and the seniors plant trees at Te Rau Puriri that they will see grow tall.
Among other things, I have been a Teacher Aid, and taught English as a second language. I now specialise in implementing Learning Management Systems as a platform for the future of learning in the workplace. Understanding and experience in analysis, reporting and governance are key elements from this work that I bring to the board.
Being part of the board is a way of being part of and contributing both to the school and to the community and I welcome that opportunity.
My name is Andre Ciseau and I am standing for the Waioneke School Board.
I have had the privilege of being on the Waioneke’s School Board for the past nine years. During this time, I have helped to manage the schools financial portfolio and since June 2016, I have held the position of Chairperson. I am very proud of our school and the continuous progress it has made over the previous years. The School continues to be in a good solid financial position which has enabled it to be well set up to provide for our children.
Professionally I work for Woolworths NZ as the Process Excellence Manager - Operations. During my time with Woolworths NZ I have held various leadership positions, which have included Internal Auditor, sixteen years as a Store Manager and more recently as an Area Manager. Over this time I have accumulated an extensive knowledge in leadership principles, Operational and Human Resource processes and procedures and budgeting / financial management.
Through professional development courses over the last 9 years with New Zealand School Trustees Association I have gained a working knowledge of maintaining an effective Board governance.
I have been actively involved in the school since our eldest son, started in 2007. I have had two sons flourish and complete their full early education at Waioneke. I currently still have one son in Year Five.
My objective as a School Board member is to provide a safe learning environment for both children and staff and to continue to provide quality education through good practices. I feel it is important to make a positive difference in our children’s education, to support their achievements and successes and to help them reach their full potential.
I am Kirsten Watson and I am a current member of the Waioneke School BOT. I have been involved with the BOT since Sept 2017 not long after we moved to South Head where we now farm close to Waioneke School. Previously I was on the Rangitaiki School BOT for 3 years as well as Chairman of the Friends of Rangitaiki School committee. I am an active member of our local community and I like getting involved in projects. Currently I am Treasurer of the Helensville Rugby Club Gold Coast Tour committee. My particular interests are in financial management, student achievement and caring for the environment. My husband and I have 3 boys attending Waioneke School , We love the rural feel of the school and the many and varied learning opportunities provided to all the students..
